The first time I went into the Parsons Career Services Office, I came out with a clearer idea of how a design's resume should look like and the best tips on how to get internships and jobs. During my time at Parsons I visited my career counselor a few times. He really listened to what I was interested in and he talked to me about potential companies that fit those interests and how to go about applying to these companies. He also told me about alternative research tools and gave me a lot of pointers about my portfolio presentation. All of this advice helped me and made a difference when I went to interviews. Throughout those visits I obtained a variety of freelance and non-profit work, in addition to my first internship at Koch Records.

Currently I am working at Clarion Books, a children¡¦s book publisher, as an Assistant Designer a position I obtained through Parsons Career Services. It¡¦s wonderful being at Clarion Books. Not only do I get to work with amazing illustrators and authors and see their work first hand, but also knowing that I¡¦m contributing to kids¡¦ reading habits makes it worthwhile.
