UNDERGRADUATE  SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Special Conditions

In some cases, after reviewing an application, the Admissions Committee may notify an applicant of a decision concerning one of the following conditions:

Summer Program Required

The Admissions Committee may decide to admit an applicant but may determine that he or she must first attend a Parsons summer program before enrolling in the fall. Such a requirement is determined at the time of the Admissions Committee's initial review so that applicants can receive notification of its decision in ample time to make summer study plans.

Waiting List

An applicant will be placed on a waiting list if the Admissions Committee is unable to base a final decision on the application materials that he or she has submitted. Such applicants will be notified immediately and advised if any additional material should be submitted.

Probation Students

Students are admitted on probation due to academic performance in earlier schoolwork. Details about probationary admission will be included in the decision letters sent to applicants accepted under such conditions.

Summer Orientation Program for International Students (SOPIS)

International students whose artistic and academic skills warrant their admission to Parsons, but whose lack of English language skills would normally disqualify them, may be offered the SOPIS program. An accepted applicant's placement in this program is at the discretion of the Admissions Committee.
